We here at Anchorpoint are grateful for the opportunity to expand our broadcast area to include many regions of Manitoba. Its breathtaking beauty, amazing and resilient people, and call for adventure have attracted people for years.
But while its physical attributes are spectacular, we are more concerned with the spiritual well-being of those who live here.
The Lord speaks in so very many ways. He says that the ‘firmament’ declares His glory. The massive starry constellations and dancing borealis shout out His existence! The land and teeming wildlife all around give all the evidence we need of a magnificent and powerful Creator.
He also says He can be found in the ‘still, small voice’ that impresses itself upon us as we muse quietly by a rocky shore or hear the crackle under our feet in the stillness of the tundra. Not everybody in this busy world is given that opportunity – the opportunity to tune out from this crazy world and close in with Him. That privilege abounds in such a coveted place as this. Do YOU ever stop to listen to Him?
But He also speaks in conscience – that faculty that reminds us of what is truly right and truly wrong. The ever present judge who presides over our wayward thoughts and sinful ways. The alarm system that warns us of a path fraught with danger and ill consequences. The agent who plagues us with guilt and regret over our wrongful behaviour. We all have one.
But, most importantly, the Lord speaks through His Word – and this is what Anchorpoint is seeking to bring to the homes of all who would take time to listen. The Bible explains to us who we are and who God is. It reveals the basic problem that characterizes all men and women – the problem of our sin and separation from God. It describes the awful eternal consequences of living a life at enmity with a holy God. But – and this is a wonderful fact – it also provides us with the solution – God’s solution – the wonderful gospel of His great grace and love for us through the Lord Jesus Christ.
So, venture out often into your great country to observe the wonders of God’s creation.
Enjoy the solitude of the land and listen to the God of all creation as you ponder His great handiwork.
Be aware of the inner promptings that reveal to you your sinfulness and your brokenness.
But, most of all, take heed to what God want to tells you from His Word. Listen to Anchorpoint and learn of God’s great love in sending Christ to die for all people – for you!
